Kevin Slates is a long-standing resident of the Woodmore district and
has been the Treasurer of Woodmore Local Schools since 2009. Prior to
coming to Woodmore, Mr. Slates was employed at Sun Federal Credit Union
for nearly 8 years. Mr. Slates received a B.S. in Business Administration
and a B.S. in Computer Information Systems from Heidelberg College. He
also received a Masters of Business Administration from The University
of Findlay.
Mr.
Slates is a member of the Ohio Association of School Business Officials
(OASBO) as well as the Northwest Ohio Chapter. He is a member of the Woodmore
Strategic Plan committee, serving on the buildings assessment team. He
is on the Special Gifts Board at Trinity Lutheran Church. He is married
with 2 children.
A recent financial audit of Woodmore Local School District
by the Auditor of State Dave Yost's office has returned a clean audit
report. Woodmore Local School District's excellent record keeping has
earned it the Auditor of State Award.
The Auditor of State Award is
presentated to local governments and school districts upon the completion
of a financial audit. Entites that receive the award meet the following
criteria of a "clean" audit report.
- Must be a GAAP entity without a a CAFR (Certified Annual
Financial Report) that timely files their financial reports with the
Auditor of State;
- The audit report does not contain any findings for
recover, material citations, material weaknesses, significant deficiencies,
Single Audit findings or questioned costs;
- The entity's management letter contains no comments
related to:
- Ethics referrals
- Questioned costs less than $10,000
- Lack of timely report submission
- Reconciliation
- Failure to obtain a timely Single Audit
- Findings for recovery less than $100
- Public meetings or public records
