We have had numerous students presenting with flu-like symtoms such as a temperature over 100, headache, body aches, sore throat and cough. Please observe for warning signs that need medical attention, such as not urinating or no tears when crying, pain or pressure in the chest or abdomen or persistent vomiting. Please keep ill children home until they are well and fever free for at least 24 hours without the use of medication. Also, keep children home 24 hours after diarrhea or vomiting.
We are sanitizing desks and rooms as best we can and encouraging good handwashing. Thank you for working with us to keep our children healthy.
All seventh grade students are REQUIRED by the state to obtain a Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis) vaccine PRIOR to school entry in the fall. Important note: a Td (tetanus only) vaccine will not be accepted – it MUST be a Tdap. Students will be excluded from school if they have not received this vaccine before the beginning of the school year. Please contact your family health care provider or your local health departments NOW!
