The Woodmore Local School District provides free and appropriate public education (FAPE) to all resident students with special needs from ages three to 21, as required by federal law. Students are served in the least restrictive environment possible, based on their individual needs. An Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) is developed for each qualified special needs student. Parents meet with the district staff annually to determine appropriate educational goals and services.
Woodmore also participates in mandated Child Find procedures, which requires the district to locate, evaluate and identify resident children suspected of having a disability. Screenings are available to preschool-age children who are suspected of having developmental delays. For children age birth to 36 months, contact resident county Help Me Grow office (Sandusky—419-334-6314, Ottawa—567-262-3141). For children age three to five, please contact the district directly by calling Kevin Ball, Director of Special Education (419-862-1070 ext 2020).
