Proposed Auditorium
10-10-14 Weekly Update

Renderings for the proposed auditorium will be displayed at local events and sporting events.

* The new auditorium will have full theater technology including spot lights, sound boards and create an immersive experience and additional educational opportunities.
  • * The auditorium is sound and light isolated ensuring less interruption during performances

* Guest amenities are convenient with a large entrance lobby, a ticket booth, concession stand, and nearby restrooms.

Please check the school website to see a comparison of the proposed high school auditorium and the PreK-8 cafetorium. 

Band Qualifies for State
10-24 Weekly Update
The Woodmore Wildcat Marching Band performed at Donnell Stadium in Findlay last Saturday, October 18th. Our Percussion won the best percussion award in Class C and received superior ratings from 3 out of three judges. The band also took 1st place in class C and qualified for state competition by receiving a superior rating. The show this year is based on the music of James Bond 007.  The picture is of the Woodmore drum line with Mr. Mike Czeczele, assistant director. The band's next contest will take place Saturday, October 25 at Swanton H.S. at 7:00 p.m.
Community Send-off for Cross Country and Soccer Teams 10/25/14
Cross Country: We are going to send off the cross country team Saturday morning by lining the parking lot at 8:30 and they will leave at 9:00 a.m.  

Girls' Soccer: There will be a community send off for the soccer team at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at the Woodmore Athletic Stadium.  Our Woodmore Community is invited to come and wish the athletes luck as they face Archbold for the District Championship at 5:00 p.m. at Lake Flyer Stadium. Come out and support this group of Woodmore Student Athletes!

Athletic News 'N' Notes 

The boys and girls cross country teams will run in the Div. III regional meet at Hedges Boyer Park in Tiffin tomorrow (Oct. 25).  Members of both teams are looking to earn a ticket to the state meet Nov. 1.  The boys have two runners competing while the girls' team is competing.  The boys' race begins at 11:00 a.m., while the girls' race starts at 1:30 p.m.

The girls soccer team will be playing in its third successive district championship game tomorrow (Oct. 25) at Lake High School against Archbold The game is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.  The winner advances to the regional semifinal game at Ottawa Hills High School Tuesday at 7 p.m. 

The meeting for parents and student-athletes participating in a winter sport will be held Monday, Nov. 3, at 6:00 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. 

The winter sports awards program will be held Monday, Nov. 10, at 6:30 in the main gym at the high school.  Both the parent meeting and the awards program are for junior high and high school sports.

Ebola is NOT transmitted through the air, water or food.

A person infected with Ebola can't spread the disease until symptoms appear.

Tombstone Derby - Depot Park on October 25 

The Elmore Historical society has added some new and exciting things this year for the 10th annual Tombstone Derby to be held Saturday, Oct 25 at Depot Park in Elmore from 11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Kids and adults in Halloween outfits, kids' racers, pets and tractors. Every kid participating in the parade will receive a bag of treats! Our Woodmore team will be there! Come and play Cornhole and other games and get a treat from 12:00-4:00 p.m. Woodmore Schools and the Historical Society will also be having a game area set up from 12:00-3:00 p.m. for a fun-filled afternoon.

Miller's Market Grocery Receipts Due by 10/27 
The high school yearbook staff collects Millers receipts. Millers will give us 1% of the total we collect. The money is used to keep the cost of the yearbook down. 
Receipts can be turned in to Mrs. Tina Sandwisch or the high school office in care of Mrs. Sandwisch.  If anyone is holding onto the receipts, we have a turn-in date of Oct. 27.  We can use receipts dated until then for this turn-in date. 
Freshmen Parent Meeting October 28 at 7:00 p.m.
The State of Ohio has passed legislation that has changed the Ohio Graduation Requirements for this year's freshmen and beyond. The requirements have changed significantly and it is vital that parents and students attend this meeting.We will be holding a meeting on October 28 at 7:00 p.m. for all freshmen and their parents to inform them about the new graduation requirements that are now part of the law.  Students will receive a letter and an RSVP card for this meeting. Please return the RSVP card to the Guidance Office by October 24th.  
Kiwanis Chili Supper 10/31/14

Elmore Kiwanis will hold their annual Chili & Soup Supper on Friday, October 31 from 4:30-7:00 PM in the cafeteria of Woodmore High School, 633 Fremont Street in Elmore.  The supper, which is held prior to the Woodmore v. Genoa varsity football game consists of all-you-can-eat Kiwanis' "famous" chili, a variety of homemade soups, beverages, and desserts.  Donations are $7 for adults, $6 for senior citizens, and $4 for children under 12.  Carry-out is also available.

Proceeds from the supper help fund Kiwanis' many community service projects, such as sponsorship of the Woodmore Key Club and Builders Club and the local Boy Scout troop, a scholarship for a graduating senior, Christmas fruit baskets, breakfast after the Easter Sunrise Service, and many other projects throughout the community.

Elmore Kiwanis meets the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month at 6PM at the Red, White and Brew Coffee Shop in Elmore.  New members are always welcome.  Check out our Facebook page at Kiwanisofelmore.
FFA Alumni Scrap Metal Drive 12/06/14
The FFA Alumni will be holding the scrap metal drive on Saturday, December 6th.  It will be held in the high school parking lot from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. They will accept any item that is metal, steel, copper or aluminum. For pick up call 419-862-2721, Ext. 350.
OSUMB will be at Hoover Auditorium in Lakeside 11/07/14 
The Ohio State University Marching Band will be at Hoover Auditorium in Lakeside November 7th.  The information on area flyers does not mention it, but tickets are also available at Red, White & Brew.

Storytime - Mondays at 7:00 p.m. In the event school activities are cancelled due to weather, storeytime will not be held.

KidzCraft - Nov. 15 & Dec.20 - Third Saturday of the month for grades K-6. Stop in anytime between 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Lego Club - Nov. 1 & Dec. 6 - First Saturday of the Month

Wednesdays - Storytime at 11:00 a.m. for preschool age children. If Woodmore Schools are closed due to weather, storytime will also be cancelled. In the event of a school delay, storytime will continue as planned.    


1000 Books Before Kindergarten: Learning to read begins before your child starts school. Reading aloud every day is one of the best ways to help prepare your child for school. If you read 3 books a day, you can read 1,095 books in a year! Come to the library to sign up for the program & take as long as you need with it. Each time you complete a milestone of 100 titles (you can use the same titles more than once!) you will receive a sticker. After the 1st 100 titles we will take a photo of your child to put on our bulletin board.  250 titles: Tote Bag; 500 titles: Book; 1000: T-Shirt & invite to our "Graduation" Party.
