Superintendent's Weekly Update

Linda Bringman, Superintendent

  November 21, 2014

Giving Thanks

Thanksgiving is a special time to show appreciation for the wonderful families in our district, organizations, churches, and businesses for their support throughout the year. Especially at Thanksgiving, we would like to wish our area farmers a bountiful harvest and give thanks for their hard work to help provide food for all of us. We extend our deepest gratitude for those in the military, past and present, who keep us safe and free.

This is also a time to keep in mind that our local businesses can provide many great gift items for family and friends of all ages. We are very blessed to live in such a caring community and each day, in some way, we are reminded how important it is to support one another. We wish everyone a safe and happy Thanksgiving. Our office will be closed November 27 and 28. The next Superintendent's Weekly Update will be sent on Friday, December 5.

Hello!  My name is Jaime Pearson and I am the new Treasurer at Woodmore Schools.  I come with about 8 years of experience and am excited to be on board!  I plan to share with you financial facts and information regarding Woodmore Local Schools, as well as information you should know about the finances of the district.  Please feel free to contact me at  This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. , or 419-862-1060, ext. 102.  I am happy to help however I can!

Did you know...The amount of state funding that a district receives is dependent on student enrollment and the property wealth of the individual district. Woodmore receives about 44% of its total revenue from the state (source: education.ohio.gov).

Volunteer Firemen/EMS Tour New PreK-8 Building

Members of the Harris-Elmore and Woodville Volunteer Fire Departments were given a tour of the new PreK-8 building on Monday, November 17. This was an opportunity for the departments to become familiar with the building. We are thankful that these individuals volunteer their time to protect our community.

Proud of Our Wildcat Cheerleaders!

This past Saturday, November 15th, the Nancy Leaser Invitational was held at Oak Harbor High School. As usual, the Wildcat cheerleaders represented their communities and school well, in spite of facing very tough competition.  The pee wee cheerleaders placed 2nd, while the junior high and high school both placed 4th.  Junior High was a mere 5 points from 3rd place.  Two of the three schools that placed ahead of Varsity are Division I, while the 1st place winner, Kalida, was last year's Division IV State Champions.

Omitted from last week's update- Pee Wee cheerleaders took 1st place at the Cat Challenge.
