Woodmore Marching Band Qualifies for State Finals

The Woodmore Marching Band participated in their first competition this school year at Columbus Grove on Saturday, September 22^nd. They took 3rd place in Class C and their overall rating was a I, Superior!

We were one of seven bands that also qualified for State Finals at that event.  A total of 21 bands performed at the contest; 15 bands were in Class C and only 4 of those Class C bands qualified at this event.

Their next contests are at :       Perkins High School on Oct. 6

                                         Swanton High School on Oct. 20   

The First Ever Woodmore H.S. Alumni Band a HUGE Success!

                        The first ever Alumni Band Night held on September 21^st was a huge success!!! Over 60 alumni showed up, despite the rain, and have said they thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Seth Bringman, a former field commander, said, "Most fun I've had in a long time. So good to see everyone and have a chance to conduct the band and fellow alumni! Hope we have it next year."  Mrs. Wilt asked for feedback from the Alumni and everyone has requested that this be a yearly event.

Here are a few of the statistics that were gathered:

Over 60 people attended our first Woodmore Band Alumni Night.

2011 and 2002 tied for the most alumni attending Friday's game.

Trumpets won with 13 players returning.

Sarah (Savage) Gilbert traveled the farthest - 8 hours from Tennessee.

DeLee (Egert) Beadle and Stacy (Schumaker) Depner were from the earliest class (1982).

There was at least one person from each class from 2000 to the present in attendance. There were people from the following classes: '82, '87, '88, '90, '93, and '94.
